The Z History

The year was 1970 and Datsun introduced their new exciting sports car the 240Z. This new breed of automotive design rivaled the competition. Within a few short years legendary sports cars like the Saab Sonnet, Volvo 1800, Triumph GT6, Opel GT and MGB GT had met their match and the Z car held the market. Now 32 years later Nissan introduces their state of the art and reasonably priced slayer. The 350Z is here and the competition needs to take notice.

1973 arrived and a lime green 240Z rolled off the assembly line in Japan. This car would be the one of the most powerful entities in my future.

In my one bedroom apartment, an idea and a thirty-five dollar investment McCune Technology was born. I wanted a rear window louver for my car. I designed it, found a local sheet metal shop to make the unit and installed my finished product. Everything looking good, I followed the American dream and placed an ad in Auto week Magazine.

The business grew from automotive accessories to an endless array of metal creations. Now, years later as history repeats its self my son David, Jr. who heads our automotive division brings the second generation of Z car enthusiast’s our latest endeavor

The future is now.
